Aisyah & Hafiz

An ivory-and-gold wedding in one hall: a quiet akad nikah at ten, a sanding at noon, jasmine strands, gold crowns and two families who barely stopped laughing.

The story of Aisyah & Hafiz

Aisyah and Hafiz wanted a wedding that felt like a long family lunch, not a performance. They dressed in white and gold, with jasmine strands and a crown-style headpiece for the bride, and held the akad nikah at ten and the majlis sanding at noon in the same hall, so both families could stay together all day.

We started outside the bride’s room at seven, photographing the quiet things first: the rings, the bouquet her sister had been guarding all morning, the first look at the jasmine. At the akad, Adli stood behind the officiant and a second photographer worked from the side, so neither of them was ever in a relative’s line of sight.

By the time of the bersanding, the families had relaxed completely. That is when the best pictures happen: the parents settling onto the pelamin before anyone else arrived, the women gathered around the bride for the doa, and a photograph of every guest, taken from the balcony, to finish.

We delivered a 48-hour preview of twenty photos, the full gallery of 742 edited photos in 28 days, and the 20-spread album a month later.

“We hardly noticed them all day, and then the gallery arrived and Mak cried at the akad photos. Nothing was staged and every picture felt like us.”
